Subject: Leon! woohoo!
Leon was conscious most of the day yesterday (thursday), and very much in
his
own mind!
Yesterday, when I arrived at the hospital, he had been positioned in the
pink
chair again, and was holding his head up with minimum support, and
impatiently jiggling his legs and tapping his fingers, while looking
huntedly
about the room, obviously unhappy with his situation. Through answering
yes/no questions with a nod or head shake, he was able to communicate (quite
emphatically!) that he was very angry, and depressed, and in quite some pain
from his back in the position he was placed, and frustrated about not being
able to speak, or make himself understood when he mouthed words. He let me
know that he didn't want me to leave him, even to go to the toilet, that he
was scared of the prison his body was being, and he wanted to get back on
top
of things, specifically asking for his laptop!
He also made a joke, by grinning and winking at my sister Jane when she said
that how he was conscious again, she wouldn't be holding his hand and
rubbing
his belly anymore! So he is truly Leon, and I am so thankful to God for his
mercy...Leon has not had the past fortnight to work through this, and fall
into the arms of a Loving God, so he will continue to need your prayers for
his emotional and spiritual recovery just as much as for his physical
recovery. I over heard the doctor saying yesterday that "Only Mrs Brooks
believed he was in there, all the clinical signs showed otherwise, a
remarkable recovery" (of his faculties)! I would add to that that Mrs
Lazidis
(Leon's sister) and Mrs Gibbons-Eyre (my sister) also were convinced that he
was "him" inside that lump of unconsious humanity that the medical staff
were
working hard to keep alive... but that only God knows for sure what is going
on!
Lucyxx
Please pray that I can locate Leon's mobile phone...I have mislaid it, maybe
it fell out of my bag while I was at hospital, or getting in or out of
someone's car?
thanks!
