I'd also like to add that a much larger chunk of the IRC using open source
community use Freenode, as at 18:24 27/06/2006:
Freenode: Current global users: 24581 Max: 29296
OFTC: Current global users: 3810 Max: 4251

Freenode is a much larger target then what OFTC is, the network is actually
pretty secure considering the number of attempted attacks Freenode receives
on a regular basis. Its true that Freenode has had a little bad press as of
late, but I urge Linux Australia and everyone else not to jump to conclusions
too easily based on this.
