This really is an important opportunity for Linux Australia.
Why? Pia's stint as President gained worldwide recognition for the
position of women in the Open Source Community, and the recent profile
on Pia in the UK's Linux Format is testament to that.

There is also a lot of false mythology about the lack of women in IT, by
supporting events such as the http://www.witwomen.org.au/index.htm we do
our bit to counter those myths with the positive reality of working in
Open Source.

Not only do I support the idea that Linux Australia should take up the
kilobyte sponsorship, but I also strongly support Pia's involvement as
an ambassador - and poster (penguin)chick for Women in Open Source.

Rock on Kung Fu Lady.
