Christopher Yeoh explained it later: last year's survey was of the
January attendees, so why not survey the April attendees and see if you
get a similar or different result?

A survey of this list would probably get you yet a third set of answers:
I don't know whether they'd be more valid or not. Maybe surveying
lca-announce is the best thing to do :)
