It's all sendmail's fault. Really - it's not just my grudge against it.

I'm pretty sure it's doing synchronous DNS lookups before quitting - so
using sendmail to send mail, takes a while.

I've *really* noticed this doing the LCA04 import into the LA membership
db and sending out the mails regarding membership - Just as an
indication - it's still going... although i'm nearly there now....

(i think) you've got an account on digital? You're welcome to look at
the config and propose a change - although we probably shouldn't go
experimenting heaps at this time of year :)

I'd love to get rid of sendmail, but i don't think it's really up to me
:)
