Unfortunately this is not necessarily true (especially for India). There you
have a large, well educated (most of the people going into the call centres
there have degrees from what I've seen) and they get paid good salaries
(hence why there's huge numbers of people there trying to get in to do the
work).
They then do work in the appalling conditions that call centre operators work
in the world over, but hey, what's new there..
So yes, the companies pay less to run the operations, but if someone came to
Australia and offered people more than the usual wage to do this sort of
work, would you call it exploitation then ? :-)
