A misspelling of Skunkware, I suppose.

It's SCO's distribution of free software.  SCO had an in-house
"skunkworks" group who produced their own CD-ROMs, initially for
OpenDeathtrap.  I have one here entitled "SkunkWare 2.0".  Cleverly,
the format is EAFS, which must be an SCO thing, so I can't mount it to
take a look.  It dates from 1994.
