Is specifically-region-based voting power necessary? Why is it relevant to
LA? The membership votes for the committee, and that membership can be (and
is) made up of people from all around the country. Dealing with specific
regional issues is not part of LA's charter.

Why is it relevant that he is from WA? :-)

Perhaps someone needs to sit down with the charter and write up the reasons
why official geographical representation is at all relevant to Linux
Australia [1], and especially within the main Linux Australia committee.
