A model which generally works well, and results in minimal parochiality,
is the AUUG model. People nominate, votes are cast, and the winners get to
orchestrate the organisation for the coming year. If those
nominated/elected are from dispirate states, then where's the issue? Face-
to-face meetings are rare, so it generally matters not where these
individuals are from. As long as they are motiviated and competent.
Remember, these are all volunteers.
