You can also install and update macromedia flash-plugin using apt-get
for many platforms... the following covers the redhat case FYI:

Red Hat Linux
   If you have installed apt for Red Hat, add the appropriate
   version line below to your /etc/apt/sources.list file.

rpm http://sluglug.ucsc.edu/macromedia/apt redhat/7.x macromedia
rpm http://sluglug.ucsc.edu/macromedia/apt redhat/8.0 macromedia
rpm http://sluglug.ucsc.edu/macromedia/apt redhat/9   macromedia
rpm http://sluglug.ucsc.edu/macromedia/apt fedora/1   macromedia
rpm http://sluglug.ucsc.edu/macromedia/apt fedora/2   macromedia

Then
[sudo] apt-get update && [sudo] apt-get install flash-plugin

or
[sudo] apt-get update && [sudo] apt-get upgrade flash-plugin

The mirror currently sits at

Current Version: 6.0.81   (03/15/2004)
RPM Version:     6.0.81-1 (03/15/2004)

I expect it will be updated fairly quickly
