[Lias] NAS/SAN storage recommendations?

Depends on how much you are backing up and how much you expect it to grow.
I took the option of installing a similar size HDD in another machine,
located it securely and remotely on-site. Then mounted the home
directories from the main server using NFS and at 1am every morning it
spends about an hour or so doing a straight file copy (only changed
files), ie.

copy last nights files in DIRA into DIRB
copy any changed files into DIRA from the mounted server

repeat each night, means I only have two days backups, but that has been
enough. Also it does not delete files that users have deleted, so last
nights backupin DIRA also includes files deleted that day. DIRB will
contain an accumulation of deleted and existing files so I always have a
version of every file.

I am considering making it a full five day rotation but would need a
machine that could handle enough IDE drives to do that. The backup server
is just a P166 with 16MB RAM.
