Hi all,
It appears there has been a little bit of confusion about the
accommodation options for linux.conf.au.
To Clarfiy:
1. The 6 bedroom apartments are *NOT* like backpacker dorms, they are six
*separate* single rooms. The only difference between these and the college
accommodation are that they have a common area (lounge/dining), two
meeting areas, a kitchen (so you can cook meals yourself) and have two
bathrooms (so, 1 bathroom for each 3 rooms) with separate showers. They
are no less private than the university dorms - its just that the rooms
are in lots of 6 rather than lots of 80 or so. See
http://www.utas.edu.au/accommodation/prospective/hbt/selfcatered.htm
2. Breakfast is still provided if you choose or are allocated an apartment
single room.
3. Internet access will be available in these apartments as well.
4. They don't cost any more to choose an apartment single room over a dorm
single room.
5. The price list on the university website is for long stay university
students, it does *not* reflect the short-term conference rate.
6. If you want to stay with others from the same state/country use the
wiki or lca chat website to organise it, we can't do this for you.
7. If you've booked double or twin, you don't need to contact us.
If you have any further queries or want to choose which type of
accommodation you'd prefer, please email accommodation at marchsouth.org
Cheers,
The LCA09 team.
