We are looking for a test and automation engineer to join the Bureau’s  
numerical modelling team, with a particular focus on developing, building and  
implementing improved numerical modelling software. You will be required to  
assist with software build automation, developing unit tests, supporting  
automated testing infrastructure, and assisting with methods for testing  
scientific accuracy.

This is a great opportunity to work on systems of national importance for the  
public good, as well as to be a part of a highly talented software  
development team.

To be successful you will have:

- Capability building automated tests in a distributed systems environment
- Knowledge of testing tools and frameworks such as Jenkins, py.test, FUnit,  
CUnit, TAP
- Familiarity with software engineering principles as well as testing methods  
and change/release management practices.
- Initiative, judgement, perseverance and an ability to work respectfully in  
a team environment and to liaise effectively with research and operations  
staff.
- Knowledge of statistics, data science, science, engineering or meteorology  
would be an advantage.
