I'm looking at filling two django/python positions at IDG Australia. The  
first
one is for a full time person, and I'm also looking for someone to do some
contract work over the next few months.

IDG is an IT publisher based in North Sydney. From our 21st floor office with
Sydney harbor views, we run sites such as www.pcworld.com.au,
www.computerworld.com.au and others. These are now mostly Django-based.

The people I'm looking for, would be able to assist with new web site
development, maintenance of existing sites and server administration.

Day to day tasks include working on new projects, changes to existing sites,
automating tasks, troubleshooting, looking after the source control system,
communicating with other staff, and performance monitoring.

Candidates must have:

* excellent python/django skills
* experience working with distributed VCS
* experience with Linux
* ability to set deadlines and meet them
* experience with system architecture and system integration

Candidates with experience in the following will be regarded favourably:

* PostgreSQL
* website scalability
* git
* Debian
* Varnish

Salary for the full time position is around $70k + super etc.
