Assurance Engineer / Perl Prog, Full Time

A hands-on programming & support role highly focused on developing systems to manage and automate OptusNet’s test environments. Expert-level Perl programming skills are required with a heavy emphasis on networking and Internet related protocols. 

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES/MAJOR AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY 

Automation: 
Develop systems to automate the test environment 

Communication: 
Quickly develop expertise in Optusnet’s systems to provide good advice/consultation to other teams/departments on all things concerning test environments. 

Delivery:
Execute software releases. Close problem reports in a timely manner. 

Specific tests:
Develop functional specific regression tests for all known systems 

Documentation: 
Contribute to the test environment documentation. Develop and adhere to documentation processes for test infrastructure. 

Web Tools: 
Develop web tools for Infrastructure Quality & Test teams 


MAJOR CHALLENGES / PROBLEM SOLVING

Work as a member of the Infrastructure Quality team according to the priorities of that team 
Make technical decisions with regards to design within the test environment. 
Identify and fix faults within all test environments

OTHER INFORMATION 

The successful applicant will have a very high skill level in perl programming. A written test will be given during the first interview. Only applicants with a very good result in the test will get a second interview.
