Systems Administrator, Full Time

CommSecure is seeking a full-time Systems Administrator.

The successful applicant will be responsible for helping to manage a large production network of mostly Linux systems with 24x7 availability requirements. The role requires close cooperation with the Operations Department to provide regular maintenance of the systems, problem diagnosis, and to undertake or propose remediation.

CommSecure is seeking self-motivated, highly organised candidates that have the capability and temperament to organise and train other, less experienced staff.

Administration of CommSecure's internal and external networks will comprise an important part of the role.

High levels of competence in the following areas is required:
  - Linux / Unix system administration,
  - Networking: both on the hardware and software (system) level,
  - Network security infrastructures,
  - Samba,
  - Email administration (particularly Sendmail),
  - Shell scripting (Bourne-shell compatible).

Experience in any or all of the following areas would be a benefit:
  - Python programming,
  - SQL databases (particularly MySQL and PostgreSQL),
  - Hardware evaluation,
  - Disaster recovery  and business continuity planning.

CommSecure is a small-to-medium sized company based in Pymble in Sydney's Northern Suburbs area. The company specialises in developing software in the financial area, providing online bill presentment and secure bill payment options in the B2B arena, amongst other things.
