Linux Sysadmin, Full Time

Wollongong based Wholesale Comms supplies wholesale Internet & voice services to hundreds of Service Providers throughout Australia. With offices in Melbourne and Wollongong we are expanding the team. This position is full time and is best suited to somebody living in the Illawarra, or Southern Sydney area.

System Administrator – $50,000 neg
(Networking & Linux)

You will be responsible for ensuring the smooth running of the networking processes in the organization – 
Maintain our existing network and systems, diagnosing problems, have an understanding of a variety of hardware, level 3 support, capable of accurate documentation and entails being on on-call.

This role will entail: 
•	Ensuring the performance and availability of network and server infrastructure is maintained to the highest standards possible, well backed up and documented
•	Support users by a variety of methods, and provide technical expertise to users by verbal & written means 
•	On-call support for the network infrastructure and associated devices
•	Some remote (interstate) travel between regional offices or POP’s will be required

To secure this key autonomous role, the successful candidate will be/have the following: 

•	Flexible and willing to pitch in on a variety of projects 
•	Self motivated individual with a take charge attitude 
•	Troubleshooting / analytical ability essential
•	Excellent communication skills, both written and oral

And can demonstrate at least a subset of  the Essential Requirements:
•	Experience providing third level support / systems administration (LAN/WAN)
•	High level of Linux 
.       Windows experience
•	Ability to support MS hosts on a corporate LAN
•	In-depth knowledge of the TCP/IP suite
•	Scripting skills (PHP, Perl, Shell etc)
•	Apache, MySQL, Qmail, Postfix experience
•	Knowledge of Telco connectivity
•	Ability to install and administer DNS, DHCP, NTP  and applications 
•	Maintain and troubleshoot routers / switches
•	Knowledge of network management products (SNMP)
•	Radius experience
•	Database experience propensity to document your work

Preferred skills:
•	Previous System Administration experience
•	Strong Cisco skills with certification  
•	Good programming skills (web, PHP and scripting languages)
•	Experience with Windows suite of BackOffice office systems including Active Directory 2003, Exchange 2003, and Office 2003.
