Linux / UNIX-AIX / Windows - S, Full Time

 Sophisticated Technology Supply-chain Business
 Linux E-commerce & AIX-Unix – National Hub
 Major Growth in Business & Core Infrastructure/Apps Technologies

My client, an undisputed leader in their sector, is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated mid level systems administrator with a 3-5 year proven track-record in a medium-large Linux RedHat server environment. Exposure to IBM Unix-AIX and Windows NT/2000 server administration is also a strong benefit to this role, as the administration team have a cross-skilling approach to ensure high levels of support coverage.

The role involves design, build, roll-out, and “professional” maintenance/administration, of a multi-million dollar infrastructure combining; Linux, Unix-AIX and Windows - underpinning the company’s core business systems and near $1 billion Aust/NZ group revenues.

These systems include (extensive) “B2B/Web Application e-Business” initiatives, core ERP, and over 30 other applications covering key areas such as; documentation management, client relationship management, call centre applications, CRM, warehousing & distribution, e-mail, enterprise application integration (EAI) applications, and Datawarehouse & financial analysis tools.

You are likely to be someone who would value the opportunity to move into a fast-paced “entrepreneurial style” of company, and who likes a variety of IT systems administration duties. With steadily increasing revenues, and take-overs of competitors occurring regularly (increasing their market-share), the company has the ability to support training both on-the-job and externally.

This role will be ideal for someone seeking to become, say, a Linux RedHat Certified Engineer (RHCE), who wants to consolidate/deepen his or her practical systems administration skills in a complex Web-focused applications environment.

Highly important is that you are a team player, to leverage the best from a supportive Team Leader/mentor, and your colleagues – a multi-tasking and experienced 5-person team.

Longer-term this role would be able to build towards a RedHat Certified Engineer (RHCE) level, as the company continues it’s exceptional growth story and concurrent IT developments.

Your expereinces should include; -
- Linux RedHat and IBM AIX, Windows NT/Win2K, basic-mid level, server; design, physical build, configuration/integration, test – in a corporate multi-server network environment
- RedHat Satellite Server Based Deployment Administration – basic exposure
- Linux RedHat, core systems administration, tools and troubleshooting experience - basic-mid level exposure
- NameD-DNS, Postfix and Apache – basic exposure

Advantageous Administration exposure/skills would include:
- IBM VM Ware
- IBM X-series Hardware
- TSM back-up system experience, or similar
- SAN exposure - IBM Fast-t experience would be ideal
- WebSphere, Oracle 8i/8/9i, Windows SQL-Server 2000 administration
