We manufacture embedded data systems for the transport industry. We are looking for programmers who are enthusiatic about Linux, and competent in C/C++ to assist in the further development of our systems.
If you have experience in data acquisition,encryption and compression, and or transmission over GSM or packet networks, this will be of benefit.
SQL/DBA knowledge is also desirable.
This is a time critical project, but which will extend into further work once the initial phase is completed.
We are also interested in post-grads looking for part-time work.

Senior Systems Administrator urgently required to take overall responsibility for the Australasian Unix (Linux and HP) and Storage Area Network Infrastructure ( 3000 users).
This role entails non-operational 3rd level support and will create policies and procedures for hands-one support teams.
You will create strategies and manage infrastructure changes relating to server hardware, operating systems, connectivity, back-up methodology, virus containment design, Unix software management and licensing, standards and policies, maintenance contracts and procurement policy.
You must also have very strong communication skills as you will be required to manage vendor and maintenance relationships for both Unix and the Storage Area Network. Among the projects you will be involved in are: planning, implementing server infrastructure, upgrades, business contingency, back-up strategy & recovery and many more.
Technical skills required include a minimum of 5 years experience in Linux, HP-UX and Dynix Netware, NT, Lotus Notes, AS400 Hardware and Operating Systems, Unix O/S and communication protocols and gateways, among other technologies. You have not only gained experience of systems administration and management, but played an instrumental role in architecting large scale systems.
