It's also recommended that you use irc.freenode.net, not
au.freenode.net. au.freenode.net only has two extremely unreliable
servers on it (Sydney's simak, and Brisbane's brin), that are frequently
either "split" or unreachable. irc.freenode.net will point you to a
relatively stable server.
