Thankyou to all of you that have sent me both personal and public
congratulations. A special thank you for the OpenOffice.org community for
my initial nomination and to the many other individuals and Open Source
communities that supported my nomination.
When asked to write more about myself, I found that each of the Open Source
communities in which I have become involved have led to another and are
connected in such a way that it made me realise that the Open Source
community is one large community.
Although the award goes to an individual, what was important to me was
being able to mention the communities of which I am but one member;
OpenOffice.org, Computer Angels, Perth Linux Users' Group, and Society of
Linux Professionals Western Australia.
The official announcement is at AUUG:

(the smh article got the brackets in the wrong place :)
Thanks to AUUG, I have personally benefited from the nomination as I have
renewed old acquaintances and friends, and have been introduced to new Open
Source community members within Australia.
I am proud to have been nominated for the AUUG Community award, and thank
you to the Open Source community for your support.
All the best
Jacqueline McNally
