 Hi
I'm not sure how I got these emails but
For fun I did a 32 bit netinstall of Debian 11 on an old IBM Thinkpad
from 2006 a little while ago.
I booted the install from a USB stick.
Using the Mate desktop everything worked as far as I could tell.
It's sllooow and Firefox trips over it's feet and takes time to
recover on those Javascript or whatever loaded supermarket catalogue
pages.
It's a Pentium M with 1.5 Gig RAM.

 Hi Peter

Could you give some more information n what you've tried/what doesn't
 happen?

Some computers aren't set up to boot from a CD by default - often
there's a shortcut key that can be pressed while the computer is
still
powering on that displays a boot menu or configration screen where
boot
order can be set. Could that be the hurdle?

If you put the CD in the drive while in Windows, do the files show
correctly? Sometimes it's easy to accidentally copy the ISO file
itself
to a CD instead of writing the ISO file's contents.
