problem of people needing to all do it at the same time, which in my
opinion is totally pointless. Some of you have already found it
impossible to attend, and others probably found it inconvenient.<br>

Email lists, like this one, work much better for sorting out serious
organisational issues. Everyone gets to read it when they can, and can
stop and think before firing off a reply, so quality will improve: ie
signal/noise ratio will improve.<br>

I look at it this way: Work = email, Play = face to face (ie social,
although good ideas and therefore 'work' can come out of there too.)<br>

however I would like to put an idea forward to<br>
help make this a more useful tool, and that is can this in anyway shape or<br>
form, be compacted down into a proper set of minutes with some listed points<br>
so that it is easier for people to get information from it, especially for<br>
those of us who don't always get online for the IRC meetings.</blockquote></div></div>I
agree that minutes of face to face meetings have value as the way to
capture and summarise proceedings, as long as they are done accurately.
However the source written words of IRC sessions, ie the logs, are the
best authoritive record of proceedings, as they are a true record.
Minutes and summaries, like any report, are as perceived by the
reporter, so can easily suffer some degree of variance from a true
record.<br>
<br>The simplest most effective and efficient way to conduct most LA and LUGCOMMS business is via email lists.<br><br>Cheers<br><br></div>
