We are delighted to invite you to participate in the ACS South Australian
Branch 2010 Conference, which will be held on 21 October, 2010 at the
Adelaide Festival Centre, Adelaide, South Australia. The Conference attracts
participants from all sectors of our industry including CIO's, ICT
Consultants, Project Managers, Business Owners, Executives, Business
Analysts, Academics, Program Managers and Software Providers. Furthermore,
our Marketing and PR Plan ensures that your business is promoted to over
1000 ACS Members based in South Australia and our Australia wide ACS
membership during an extensive lead-in
campaign, as well as other corporate and government ICT professionals. This
is an excellent opportunity that you can't afford to miss!

The Conference is the annual flagship event for the ACS South Australian
Branch. Australia is increasingly reliant on ICT, in business, at home and
at play. With the theme "Front and Centre: Recognising the Value of ICT" the
Conference is designed to highlight and discuss, some of the ways ICT
penetrates our lives and will direct our futures. The Conference will
feature a number of Keynote Speakers, Symposium Workshops, Professional
Development Streams, networking opportunities and a cocktail party. We are
also incorporating The Pearcey Award.

We have a great line up of international, interstate and local speakers of
which some you may have heard of and others maybe not, but will provide you
with a good insight and are more than willing to pass on their knowledge
within there particular field of extpertise, these include;

Keynote Speakers:
* Richard Stallman (also known as RMS); Founder of the Free Software
Foundation & GNU Project http://www.fsf.org/ Lead Architect and Project
Organiser, and also an advocate for the free software movement.
* Andrew Mills; South Australian Government Chief Information Officer, works
on a range of projects and initatives within the government sector but also
focusing on an accross-government ICT strategy (which includes other state
and territory governments around Australia)
* Patrick Wilson; Professional Service Manager for Resonate, a consulting
group which specialises in providing services in the delivery of “Customer
Facing” solutions including social networking and on-line communities.
Patrick is also the ACS NSW Branch Chairperson and is also quite heavily
involved with the ACS.

'ISACA / Security' Stream Speakers:
* John van Ruth; Chartered Accountant and started his career as an Auditor,
Computer Auditor, ICT Consultant, CIO and now coming full circle back to his
accounting roots has been recently appointed as Chief Financial Officer for
Coopers Brewery. John has nearly 30 years of Executive management, IT,
eBusiness and security experience, gained in Australia, Holland, and Canada.
* Tony Hayes; Associate Director-General, Department of Communities and has
extensive experience across the Queensland public sector over many years in
a variety of Senior Executive positions in line and central agencies. Tony
has specialist experience and skills in strategic management and planning,
organisational review and business process improvement, information and
business strategy development, change management and project management.
* David Powell; David is widely recognised as one of the most experienced
Internal and IT Auditors in Adelaide and is one of the few holders of the
Certified Internal Auditor, Certified Information Systems Auditor and
Certified Governance in Enterprise IT accreditations. David’s Principal
Areas of Practice include IT Audit, Security and Risk, Project Quality
Assurance and Project Management, Risk Management, Probity Audit and Advice,
Corporate Governance, Internal Audit and China Strategy

'NBN / Telecommunications' Stream Speakers:
* Anthony Overmars; Director of Softronics and moi-p. Softronics was started
by Anthony in 1986 and provided Testing Tools to the mobile phone industry
for nearly 20 years. moi-p was started by Anthony in 2008 and is in the
business of providing VOIP on mobile phones. Anthony holds a number IP
claims in mobile phone telephony. Anthony has three engineering degrees, one
business degree and a trade.
* John Neville; Founder and Managing Director of Data Agility, a business
and IT services company which helps companies leverage their data more
effectively to improve business performance. John has 25 years experience in
business and IT spanning strategy, management consulting, business analysis
and project management roles. Data Agility’s eHealth practice has grown
since that time and now works with clients in both the private and public
health sectors, developing strategy and implementing eHealth initiatives.
* Robert Tait; Associate Director of Gibson Quai - AAS with over 25 years of
experience in telecommunications related technologies, systems and
processes. He has provided strategic and tactical planning advice to a wide
range of organisations that have been seeking to upgrade existing
communications infrastructure or exploit new converged or unified
communication solutions.
* Reg Coutts; After 17 years in Telstra from 1976 till 1993, in 1993 Dr Reg
Coutts was appointed to the Chair in Telecommunications at the University of
Adelaide. Professor Coutts left the University at the end of 2003 as
Emeritus Professor to establish his own company Coutts Communications Pty
Ltd which provides strategic advice to government and industry both in
Australia and overseas. Reg is also the ACS SA Branch Chairperson and is
also quite heavily involved with the ACS.

'The Business of ICT' Stream Speakers:
* Susan Andrews; Susan Andrews is the Business Advisor, ICT and Services for
Innovate SA,
In this role, Susan facilitates growth and building management capability in
local ICT, electronics, telecommunications and digital media companies. She
has developed the Growing Global Companies program delivering
entrepreneurial skills to over 300 innovative SA companies.
* Marty Gauvin; Marty Gauvin is the Founder and Chairman of Tier 5, a
company that designs, builds and operates data centre parks, and a Director
of Playford Capital. Marty is also the Founder, President & CEO of Virtual
Ark, an international application managed services company delivering next
generation Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) solutions to market together with
Independent Software Vendor (ISV) partners through innovative solutions
leveraging existing clouds.
* Malcolm Hill; Chairman of Open SA, which was established in 2009 to bring
together local software companies to engage in co-operative activities that
build visibility for Open Source and Open Standards use within the
commercial and government marketplace of South Australia. Open SA was
recently awarded an SA Government grant to develop software and increase
membership. Malcolm also is an Information Technology and Services
Consultant and Contractor.
* Simon Hackett; Combines entrepreneurial energy with technical expertise in
his leadership of Internode, Australia's largest privately-owned broadband
company. Since 1991, Simon has built Internode into a nationally recognised
Internet company that is renowned for its customer-friendly service. Simon
has been personally involved with the development of the Internet since its
early days in Australia.
