(20:05:30) KatteKrab: there were 3 points.
(20:05:33) PaulWay: Hang on.
(20:05:37) KatteKrab: LA and LCA news was the first one
(20:05:56) KatteKrab: no-one else proposed partciular topics for the
meeting... so we can go with what I had in the email...
(20:06:08) KatteKrab: does anyone have anything in particular they want
to discuss?
(20:06:08) PaulWay: OK, it's up.
(20:06:21) PaulWay: LUG-in-a-box.
(20:06:31) ***PaulWay rousts up evil_steve
(20:07:02) KatteKrab: I did ask evil_steve to join us - but forgot to
remind him.
(20:07:08) ***PaulWay just did.
(20:07:16) KatteKrab: cool :)
(20:07:31) spidie: I have: 1. LA and LCA news

planets & mail lists
(20:07:39) KatteKrab: ok - so.... seems there's a couple of new people

(20:07:47) Czaxx: sounds good
(20:07:47) PaulWay: And yea verily that looketh good unto me.
(20:07:53) KatteKrab: I'm aka Donna - organised LCA this year in
Melbourne
(20:07:54) PaulWay: Alphabetic.
(20:08:10) spidie: yes.. good idea
(20:08:21) PaulWay: No, that'll be too slow. Blinken is probably asleep.
(20:08:27) cafuego: soz, LUV ctte meeting
(20:08:46) PaulWay: Is it worth reminding people of my new mix for those
trance lovers that want something to listen to for the meeting?
(20:08:54) purserj: cafuego: no this is the LUG ctte meeting
(20:09:10) cafuego: thanks james

(20:11:16) KatteKrab: well hi everyone - thanks so much for logging in

(20:11:29) KatteKrab: so - let's star with LCA news?
(20:11:42) Czaxx: okey dokey
(20:11:44) KatteKrab: doesn't seem to be any LA councillors here just at
the moment.
(20:11:49) Czaxx: who knows about that?
(20:11:51) KatteKrab: Czaxx: shoot!
(20:11:54) Czaxx: :)
(20:12:23) KatteKrab: Czaxx: is there anything you'd like the LUGers to
help with?
(20:12:33) KatteKrab: eg promoting the up coming call for papers.... ?
(20:12:37) Czaxx: ok, the last weekend has been busy with getting ready
for the new and improved(tm) website launch so we're ready to do the CFP
in early july
(20:13:08) KatteKrab: cool.
(20:13:21) Czaxx: we'll be contacting each LUG to promote the CFP and
also the CF miniconfs (hopefully I got that right, mini-confs,
MINI-confs, whatever)\
(20:13:42) KatteKrab: lol
(20:14:12) PaulWay: Personally I think it's awesome that we have a
hack-session on Zookeepr to improve this thing.
(20:14:37) Czaxx: yeah, and makes it maintainable and portable for next
year's LCA
(20:14:48) PaulWay: Awe!
(20:14:49) KatteKrab: *nod* yeah is a very good thing.
(20:14:49) Czaxx: zookeepr that is
(20:15:06) Czaxx: from what my tam tells me it was excessivly productive
(20:15:11) Czaxx: team
(20:15:13) KatteKrab: anything else CZaxx?
(20:15:23) cafuego: Czaxx: it was a rather well spent weekend, I think.
(20:15:27) PaulWay: Just to remind people that I'm running a gobby
server for notes and general information on tangram.dnsalias.net:6522 -
the password is the name of this channel (minus the #).

(20:16:01) PaulWay: What kind of accommodation are you looking at so
far?
(20:16:01) adhoc: hi KatteKrab
(20:16:04) spidie: cant install gobby - will work it out for next
time :(
(20:16:11) evil_steve [n=evil_ste at 203.0.155.20] entered the room.
(20:16:16) MotherLUG [n=karin at k-sit.com] entered the room.
(20:16:20) KatteKrab: we have coined a whole new word - just for the
lead org of LCA ;)
(20:16:25) KatteKrab: welcome evil_steve and MotherLUG
(20:16:25) PaulWay: KatteKrab: ignore the mistakes of others and spell
it correctly!
(20:16:28) Czaxx: 5* hotels for all :) jk
(20:16:30) tp: hi MotherLUG !
(20:16:33) purserj: KatteKrab: Super Sucker?
(20:16:34) MotherLUG: Evening All
(20:16:37) KatteKrab: PaulWay: noooooo - embrace the mistakes of others.
(20:16:38) KatteKrab: ;)
(20:16:42) PaulWay: No.
(20:16:53) cafuego: If anyonbe else wants to help out on Zookeepr, grab
a copy from https://launchpad.net/zookeepr
(20:16:55) PaulWay: Only learn from them. Do not repeat them.
(20:17:21) Czaxx: we're negotiating with the Casino (a stones throw from
the venue) to allocate rooms for the conf, we've also secured university
accom which consists of college-style accom and a few self-contained 5
bedroom flats
(20:17:22) spidie: what is it with all these steves - good job me and
tuxta go by aliases :)
(20:17:30) adhoc: PaulWay: perhaps some ofthe more fun ones perhaps?
(20:17:35) purserj: oh evil_steve is an alias too
(20:17:39) purserj: he's not really that evil
(20:17:43) evil_steve: hello mr cheese.
(20:18:02) evil_steve: I'm just auth'd that way
(20:18:04) KatteKrab: Ok - now evil_steve is here....
(20:18:18) KatteKrab: evil_steve: do you have any LA news to impart to
the LUG org's ?
(20:18:27) PaulWay: adhoc: It may be fun but it niggles!
(20:18:39) adhoc: s/g/b/
(20:18:40) evil_steve: not really, Paulschulz is the Liason to the
lug-comms
(20:18:42) adhoc: s/g/b/s
(20:18:44) adhoc: s/g/b/g
(20:19:10) PaulWay: adhoc: your rebular expressions will devour us all!
(20:19:11) KatteKrab: evil_steve: our first agenda item is LA and LCA
news....
(20:19:34) purserj: I believe evil_steve was brought here to talk about
LUG in A Box
(20:19:37) KatteKrab: paul schulz is not here at present... and you
are... so just wondering if there was anything? If not. then not. no big
deal.
(20:19:39) yama: hi, sorry I'm late
(20:19:45) KatteKrab: hey yama :)
(20:19:54) ***evil_steve runs a regex on adhoc
(20:19:55) evil_steve: s#/\*[^*]*\*+([^/*][^*]*\*+)*/|//[^\n]*|("(\
\.|[^"\\])*"|'(\\.|[^'\\])*'|.[^>/"'\\]*)#$2#gs
(20:20:04) KatteKrab: ok - so nothing else on LCA and LA news?
(20:20:11) evil_steve: KatteKrab: I'm not aware of any news that needs
to be passed on at this point
(20:20:31) Czaxx: any other qns about LCA?
(20:20:32) KatteKrab: if not - lets move on to LUG happenings...
upcoming meetings? events?
(20:20:38) PaulWay: Czaxx: so what's your planned maximum attendance?
(20:20:42) KatteKrab: oh yeah - last call for LCA Qns?
(20:20:43) KatteKrab: :)
(20:21:13) PaulWay: Czaxx: welcome to Gobby :-)
(20:21:18) Czaxx: between 700-800 attendees, around 700-750 tickets
available
(20:22:09) yama: how many of those will be able to see _everything_?
(20:22:11) Czaxx: Paulway: thx, never really used it before :)
(20:22:12) yama: including the keynotes
(20:22:18) adhoc: 800 attendees?!?
(20:22:29) cafuego: yama: 0% unless they can fork themslves ;-)
(20:22:39) Czaxx: we're not looking at keynote-only tickets as yet
(20:22:42) KatteKrab: Czaxx: does that include Speakers / Team /
Vollys ?
(20:22:45) ***evil_steve lets adhoc volunteer for the wifi team
(20:22:52) Czaxx: there is some sub-optimal seating (so get up early)
(20:23:00) KatteKrab: :)
(20:23:03) adhoc: evil_steve: ssshhhhhh
(20:23:03) PaulWay: Czaxx: I assume you mean keynote-abstaining...
(20:23:13) Czaxx: but everyone should be able to see
(20:23:17) KatteKrab: sub-optimal - or intimate... depending on your
point of view ;)
(20:23:24) Czaxx: paulway: yep :)
(20:23:24) PaulWay: Hahahahah
(20:23:39) Czaxx: KatterKrab: indeed ;)
(20:23:45) KatteKrab: ok - so - anything else?
(20:23:52) KatteKrab: shall we move on to LUG news?
(20:24:00) PaulWay: OK.
(20:24:12) KatteKrab: what topics are being covered in the next
meetings?
(20:24:29) KatteKrab: (or what was covered in last meeting)
(20:24:50) yama: the next SLUG meeting is on Friday:
http://www.slug.org.au/node/100
(20:24:53) PaulWay: We had a good talk on testing from Tridge, although
I wasn't able to be there.
(20:25:17) cafuego: Our next meeting is next week. noisymime is coming
to enlighten LUV on Clutter and jamesturnbull is talking about Puppet
(20:25:33) Czaxx: TasLUG has Pia coming down for a TasLUG meeting in
Launceston at the Royal Oak
(20:26:03) tp: our next meeting is June 5, we are planning doing more on
gui programming
(20:26:03) PaulWay: He talked on KVM, virtual machines and Samba
clusters according to Chris.
(20:26:05) Czaxx: TasLUG meeting: 2:00pm 31st May Royal Oak Launceston
(with lunch before at 1pm)
(20:26:13) adhoc: LinuxSA; just past, intro to LinuxMCE, next intro GPS
and OpenStreetMap
(20:26:42) KatteKrab: yama - cool - zach on pentaho and silvia on
vquence. Shiny!
(20:26:44) spidie: GCLUG is pretty much reduced to a mailing list at the
moment - lots of list members - but just can't get a meeting together. I
would like some tips there - keen to hear about this LUG in a box
(20:26:50) theothersteve: LOGIN had a talk on linux audio. Pulse, Jack,
DAAP sharing, upnp etc.
(20:27:01) adhoc: Air-Stream; next meeting is tomorrow night on; WPA and
Radius & Coax Cable Making - Bring your soldering iron, all parts
supplied
(20:27:04) spidie: I have been spending most of my energy on Barcamp and
OSDGC (our open source developers group which is going well)
(20:27:08) yama: KatteKrab: that'll suit the crowd we hope to pull in
from cebit :)
(20:27:31) yama: if there's an expo, we try to capitalise on it at the
next slug meeting
(20:27:37) KatteKrab: sounds like lotsa good stuff going on!
(20:27:44) yama: so the next meeting I think will be educational
themed :)
(20:27:44) tp: Lisglug: June 5: gui programming: database interfacing
(20:27:44) evil_steve: adhoc: pity I'm running the eduroam workshop
tomorrow with zany uncle Glen..
(20:27:54) adhoc: evil_steve: where?
(20:27:57) KatteKrab: spidie: what is the main challenge with getting a
meetng together? time - place? both?
(20:27:59) spidie: Oo Pentaho I'm evaluating that at the mo - wish I was
at your one... :(
(20:28:05) spidie: GEOGRAPHY.
(20:28:08) evil_steve: adhoc: unisyd
(20:28:15) spidie: Gold Coast is a funny place - hard to get around.
(20:28:23) KatteKrab: yama - something on the OLPC maybe?
(20:28:25) spidie: and noone can every agree on a good location
(20:28:26) adhoc: hmmm ... shame.
(20:28:35) yama: spidie: send me an e-mail if you're interested in
pentaho. I work with it
(20:28:45) KatteKrab: I had a bunch of OLPCS at the ictev conference on
Saturday - lots of interest, lots of excitement.
(20:28:48) yama: KatteKrab: we've already had a few olpc talks :)
(20:28:51) yama: in the past year
(20:28:56) spidie: We will get it together - my energies are just
diverted elsewhere at the moment.
(20:29:03) yama: and we'll have olpcs at the edu expo
(20:29:05) noisymime: BLUG had part 1 of a 2 part linux webhosting
tutorial, predictably part 2 is next, mostly vhosts I think.
(20:29:15) evil_steve: adhoc: free to aarnet subscribers :) you've got
24 hours to get it ok'd and book flights :)
(20:29:19) adhoc: noisymime: where is BLUG?
(20:29:19) spidie: We are doing a Gold Coast Barcamp next month and I am
hoping to get some renewed energy then
(20:29:23) KatteKrab: spidie: I reckon just pick a time and place - at
least 6 weeks into the future - gives people a chance to put it in their
calendars and spread the word.
(20:29:28) noisymime: adhoc: Ballarat, Vic
(20:29:34) adhoc: noisymime: ta =)
(20:29:45) KatteKrab: spidie: barcamp sounds like the perfect
opportunity to get things going
(20:29:57) spidie: yeah - I'm done that once before - but 4 people
turned up... disheartened me a bit..
(20:29:59) yama: ah, so not Beijing then :Þ
(20:30:02) adhoc: barcamps can be a lota fun =)
(20:30:21) spidie: We did BarCamp brisbane on the weekend - got 60
people - a lot of them have said they will come down to coast next month
(20:30:22) JasonN
[n=j_lee_ni at ppp59-167-48-187.lns2.cbr1.internode.on.net] entered the
room.
(20:30:28) spidie: I love Barcamps...
(20:30:32) KatteKrab: spidie: sometimes you have to start small - and
enlist the happy few that turn up to help spread the word... :)
(20:30:39) KatteKrab: hi JasonN - welcome to lugcomms
(20:30:40) evil_steve: spidie: the CLUG PSIG Meetings when I took over,
generally consisted of me and one or two others for the first few months
(20:30:50) PaulWay: Heh - I love technology - just got JasonN online :-)
(20:30:54) adhoc: we had 15 people last year and 30 people this year =)
getting the venue is the hardest part.
(20:30:56) JasonN: hi
(20:31:01) yama: Barcamps are great. It allows you to branch out and mix
with people who are not in the foss community
(20:31:07) PaulWay: Introduce yourself if you want to.
(20:31:39) PaulWay: spidie: that's a pretty good turnout for a first
barcamp!
(20:31:40) adhoc: hi JasonN
(20:32:01) spidie: 2nd one.
(20:32:08) spidie: 1st one had about 30-40.
(20:32:29) spidie: Been really good - although about 40% of the people
are MS people
(20:32:40) KatteKrab: has anyone started with software freedom day
planning yet?
(20:32:42) spidie: but I don't mind that - most of them are the open
minded ones
(20:32:52) cafuego: KatteKrab: LUV discussed it tonight.
(20:33:07) PaulWay: KatteKrab: still in the theory stages.
(20:33:15) Czaxx: yeah, a bit but most of TasLUG are somewhat
pre-occupied with other things :)
(20:33:43) KatteKrab: understandable...
(20:33:44) yama: tossing some sfd ideas around
(20:33:48) yama: but nothing concrete
(20:33:56) tuxta: spidie: Oh yeah, we will have to start thinking about
software freedom day after barcamp
(20:34:03) PaulWay: I really need to get a concrete proposal about CDs
for SFD together for LA.
(20:34:25) Czaxx: we'll probably do the usual displays and the like and
we've got our radio spot as well
(20:34:38) KatteKrab: cool stuff.
(20:34:44) PaulWay: Hmmm - I have friends at 2XX - maybe I could get
something on there...
(20:34:49) PaulWay: Good thinking Czaxx!
(20:34:51) ***yama put in an order for 1000 discs for the edu expo today
(20:34:55) KatteKrab: ok - any more stuff on LUG news? should we move on
to final item?
(20:35:03) spidie: tuxta: yes...
(20:35:13) KatteKrab: 3. LUG infrastructure: lug-in-a-box, websites,
planets & mail lists
(20:35:14) Czaxx: we've found that radio gets a serious increase of
attendees
(20:35:36) PaulWay: Czaxx: we hold ours at a computer fair so there's a
lot of people walking past.
(20:35:44) KatteKrab: Czaxx: any chance we could use your tassie abc
connections to get local coverage in other regions?
(20:35:58) yama: we're looking into puppetising our server, which might
be of use to other LUGs
(20:35:59) spidie: good thing about the Gold Coast is that nothing
happens much here in the community - if we do something - you can get in
the paper pretty easily
(20:36:08) KatteKrab: yeah - I've been thinking we need to use the swap
meets to promote SFD
(20:36:08) Czaxx: its possible, but they're all pretty independent
(20:36:18) PaulWay: I also need to get organised and run an Installfest
one or two weekends after SFD to take advantage of the interest.
(20:36:24) purserj: If they're anything like WIN they will be
(20:36:33) purserj: Except of course WIN in tas is now all done out of
Hobart
(20:36:46) KatteKrab: purserj: we should look at co-ordinating some
media attention for SFD this year...
(20:36:55) cafuego: PaulWay: That's what we plan on doing as well.
(20:37:00) KatteKrab: starting now to aim for features in major
papers...
(20:37:06) purserj: KatteKrab: that would be a "Good Thing"
(20:37:08) tuxta: Hmm, may be time for an install fest on GC, the first
one I ran was a huge success, the second turned me off doing another
(20:37:08) KatteKrab: and magaxines.
(20:37:09) cafuego: PaulWay: promote the hell out of it at SFD, to get
attendance up.
(20:37:15) PaulWay: Yeah.
(20:37:23) KatteKrab: tuxta: lots work involved ey?
(20:37:26) Czaxx: katterkrab: best bet for ab is to contact the local
station - they are often looking for guests
(20:37:32) tuxta: KatteKrab: hell yeah
(20:37:36) KatteKrab: :)
(20:37:39) yama: I'd love to do another Bootcamp, but we're probably all
too busy
(20:37:45) KatteKrab: ok - time's flying... let's move on shall we?
(20:37:49) PaulWay: Yep.
(20:37:51) tuxta: mainly with getting a venue and covering arses
(20:37:55) yama: last years bootcamp was fantastic and imho better than
any installfest
(20:37:59) Czaxx: sounds good
(20:38:03) ***Czaxx has to eat
(20:38:04) KatteKrab: evil_steve: could you give us an idea of the
LUGIAB concept?
(20:38:19) evil_steve: I can
(20:38:26) spidie: Would it be good to put together some "Recipes" for
running a successful IntallFest, SFD etc - a bit like this lug in a box
(20:38:35) evil_steve: but I have to play the general disclaimer.
(20:38:38) PaulWay: spidie: Good idea.
(20:38:41) Czaxx: sounds like a wiki :)
(20:38:41) spidie: lots of people wont have a clue what to do
(20:38:47) KatteKrab: spidie: yeah - great idea
(20:38:55) yama: inho installfests are mostly passe, given how easy
Linux is to install
(20:38:57) tuxta: There are guides to install fests online
(20:38:58) yama: focus on the apps
(20:39:17) Czaxx: yeah our experience has been OSS on windows is very
popular
(20:39:18) KatteKrab: anyway - folks - let's put that on next meetign
agenda?
(20:39:26) tuxta: Its not so much about installing these days, but
problem encountered
(20:39:29) KatteKrab: and hear about LUGiab now?
(20:39:30) Czaxx: but Linux a bit daunting
(20:39:34) spidie: Ok. Good. Can we get the the links all collated in a
central place maybe on the la website?
(20:39:35) PaulWay:
http://tldp.org/HOWTO/Installfest-HOWTO/introduction.html being such a
one.
(20:39:41) KatteKrab: HELLLOO
(20:39:42) KatteKrab: ????
(20:39:43) KatteKrab: ;)
(20:39:49) KatteKrab: LUG in a BOX -
(20:39:50) yama: Czaxx: which is why I'm getting 1000 OpenEducationDiscs
for the Education Expo
(20:39:58) KatteKrab: installfest howtos - next meeting.
(20:40:00) PaulWay: Sorry.
(20:40:01) Czaxx: yama: cool
(20:40:10) Czaxx: sorry back to agenda
(20:40:13) KatteKrab: :)
(20:40:14) KatteKrab: Steve?
(20:40:30) evil_steve: Disclaimer: "LUGIAB is at this point purely hand
wavy and is yet to be fully spec'd. Actual results and colours may not
be as cool as it sounds, all input is appreciated"
(20:40:31) KatteKrab: evil_steve specifically?
(20:40:40) KatteKrab: :)
(20:40:42) KatteKrab: cool.
(20:40:43) evil_steve: The idea is;
(20:40:54) JasonN: we currently have some notes from the python sig at
http://trac.proams.org/index.fcgi/wiki/lugInABox
(20:41:17) PaulWay: JasonN: ta, was looking for that.
(20:41:22) evil_steve: JasonN: this is different to the LUGIAB that Paul
has been coralling.
(20:41:47) yama: evil_steve: talk to Lindsay. He's got some ideas about
it involving puppet.
(20:41:53) JasonN: This came from me listening to what paul was saying
at a pub'
(20:41:58) yama: but it's just 'ideas' atm
(20:42:02) evil_steve: guys, if i can explain what it is, this will go
so much faster
(20:42:18) adhoc: evil_steve: hit us with ti
(20:42:41) JasonN: I have sketched together some basic code as a proof
of concept for myself but more direction and input would be good
(20:43:46) PaulWay: More specifically our idea is a component of
evil_steve's.
(20:43:54) evil_steve: LUGIAB (Lug in a box) will be a VM offered by
Linux Australia for use by LUGs. It will have: Mailmanfor mailing lists,
Drupal for content management, a meeting management system (ala CLUG's
LUGIAB), subversion and trac for LUG projects, mediawiki for howtos and
workshops, planet for blog aggregation.
(20:44:06) evil_steve: it will be offered to LUGS with two optiosn
(20:44:27) evil_steve: either 1) LA admin team will help with admin, or
2) the Lug can take the VM and run with it.
(20:44:50) KatteKrab: sounds cool evil_steve
(20:44:56) adhoc: noice
(20:44:57) evil_steve: note that this is a long range (3-6months)
project whilst hardware, hosting, etc is sorted out
(20:45:09) tuxta: LUGIAB - Wow! has this been done overseas? or is it an
Aussie original?
(20:45:18) spidie: So LA will host if LUG doesn't have there own server?
(20:45:29) PaulWay: tuxta: I haven't seen anything like it talked
about...
(20:45:30) purserj: that's the plan
(20:45:32) evil_steve: LUGIAB v1 was a meeting management system written
for CLUG by andrew pollock
(20:45:34) KatteKrab: spidie: I think that's the plan - yeah
(20:45:39) evil_steve: LUGIAB v2 is the full VM
(20:45:53) evil_steve: spidie: yes, it will live on LA infrastructure
(20:45:59) spidie: good stuff
(20:46:03) PaulWay: The other idea, evil_steve, is to have a complete
management system and integration for the whole thing.
(20:46:32) KatteKrab: evil_steve: is there a reference point where you
want people to send thoughts/ questions / ideas? or is it still too
early for that?
(20:46:39) evil_steve: PaulWay: perhaps you can outline your thoughts
for LUGIAB v40 and put them in an email to me.
(20:46:44) adhoc: evil_steve: only question is what about patching the
things? centralised?
(20:46:55) evil_steve: KatteKrab: it's still to early for that part of
it sorry.
(20:47:04) KatteKrab: ok - well keep us posted?
(20:47:06) evil_steve: this was all airy-fairy until joxer mentioned at
the AGM
(20:47:22) evil_steve: when it went from 0.001alpha to 0.7 beta in about
4 seconds :)
(20:47:22) spidie: You might find some LUGs will be happy with just the
wiki in TRAC - nice and simple (as much as I love drupal)
(20:47:23) bazzawill_eee
[n=bazza at ppp121-45-171-68.lns11.adl2.internode.on.net] entered the room.
(20:47:29) KatteKrab: Do you need help at this point?
(20:47:38) KatteKrab: Hi bazzawill_eee - welcome to lugcomms
(20:47:55) bazzawill_eee: hey everybody
(20:48:20) evil_steve: KatteKrab: not at this point, I need to get down
what we want to do, confirm the rest of the admin team is happy to work
on it (i only have general stuff at the moment), then it'll move to
feedback and input from LUGS
(20:48:26) evil_steve: probably around September
(20:48:32) PaulWay: evil_steve: well, waiting on your wikification of
your ideas.
(20:48:35) evil_steve: adhoc: centrally patched for ones admin'd by LA
(20:48:38) KatteKrab: Cool :) So - any more points evil_steve? any one
else have more questions?
(20:48:40) PaulWay: but will email you anyway.
(20:49:38) KatteKrab: because - I think... it's dinner time for me :)
(20:49:43) Czaxx: me too
(20:49:46) purserj: hmmmm dinner
(20:49:51) PaulWay: The other part of this that I talked about at our
meeting and on email was that it be a project that Australian LUGs can
contribute to.
(20:49:53) KatteKrab: so - if there's nothing else, shall we wrap this
up?
(20:49:53) evil_steve: third course and second beer for me
(20:49:59) KatteKrab: NEXT MEETING??
(20:50:01) PaulWay: So everyone is encouraged to work on a part of it
and co-operate.
(20:50:03) purserj: beeeeeer
(20:50:07) spidie: yes.
(20:50:12) Czaxx: mmm beer - what a fine idea
(20:50:15) PaulWay: KatteKrab: OK, hold on there... :-)
(20:50:20) KatteKrab: Tuesday April 24 ?
(20:50:22) PaulWay: Yeah, it does sound like a good idea.
(20:50:25) PaulWay: How about June?
(20:50:35) purserj: PaulWay: you radical
(20:50:35) KatteKrab: oh
(20:50:37) KatteKrab: time warp.
(20:50:39) purserj: KatteKrab: got a tardis
(20:50:40) KatteKrab: weird
(20:50:40) purserj: ?
(20:50:42) adhoc: evil_steve: when you make the mail list, put me on it
i have ideas
(20:50:43) PaulWay: KatteKrab: June 24th.
(20:50:43) KatteKrab: I call it hunger
(20:50:58) Czaxx: june 24 == good for me
(20:51:02) KatteKrab: yeah - June - now that's a plan!
(20:51:10) PaulWay: Yes, folks, Kattekgrab's hunger can make you travel
backward in time!
(20:51:10) KatteKrab: same bat time, same bat channel?
(20:51:14) PaulWay: Yep.
(20:51:19) KatteKrab: Cool.
(20:51:37) purserj: mark 25th June on your calender as well
(20:51:39) KatteKrab: Now - does anyone have any objections to the
transcript from 8pm being posted?
(20:51:46) PaulWay: purserj: ?
(20:51:47) spidie: Are we saving the transcripts of these meetings and
sending to the list?
(20:51:52) PaulWay: KatteKrab: Nope.
(20:51:56) purserj: PaulWay: lugroundup is coming back
(20:52:01) yama: zomg
(20:52:02) evil_steve: KatteKrab: can you please bold my disclaimer, and
maybe make it 104 point so it doesn't get lost?
(20:52:02) yama: yay
(20:52:02) KatteKrab: If no-one objects.... then yes we will post.
(20:52:04) purserj: OSOTA is coming back
(20:52:04) PaulWay: purserj: coolzors!
(20:52:17) KatteKrab: evil_steve: not in text only email - no ;)
(20:52:20) cafuego: spidie: We're taking some notes in gobby... and i
imagine at least half the ppl here are logging irc to disk anyway :-)
(20:52:21) yama: post, dammit! :)
(20:52:35) KatteKrab: coolness.
(20:52:38) adhoc: KatteKrab: explore figlet
(20:52:40) spidie: cool - I will make sure I have gobby working next
time.
(20:52:41) KatteKrab: Thanks again everyone!
(20:52:42) Czaxx: maybe we need to post minutes and make the log
available for those who want it - so people can read the key points
(20:52:52) yama: purserj: the LA calendar has June 24 incorrectly listed
as a SLUG meeting night
(20:52:53) KatteKrab: Very much appreciated you taking time to do this.
(20:52:53) PaulWay: Post it as well JIC and so it can receive its
blessing from Google.
(20:53:00) purserj: yama: okay
(20:53:05) spidie: I think that date is ok for me - I'll just try my
best, or at least get one other gold coast person to come in.
(20:53:05) KatteKrab: it's goood to start getting some cross comms
happening :)
(20:53:10) KatteKrab: take care all!
(20:53:13) purserj: I'll have a look at it
(20:53:19) yama: should be june 27
(20:53:21) PaulWay: Can I ask: would people mind a longer meeting?
(20:53:30) Czaxx: cu for a beer later this week Katterkrab! :)
(20:53:35) KatteKrab: PaulWay: I think short and sweet is good.
(20:53:41) KatteKrab: Czaxx: yes! beeeeerrrrr
(20:53:41) cafuego: PaulWay: if it follows a LUG meeting again, yes.
(20:53:43) KatteKrab: or a martini
(20:53:45) yama: PaulWay: if thee's actually something to talk about,
sure
(20:53:51) yama: but the better meetings are concise
(20:53:57) Czaxx: shaken not stirred :)
(20:53:58) PaulWay: KatteKrab, cafuego: point taken.
(20:54:05) cafuego: PaulWay: Mind you, you can always throw ideas onto
the list
(20:54:09) spidie: tuxta: any chance you can write up a little summary
and post to the gclug list - I'm away for the next 2 days and have to go
and pack now
(20:54:15) PaulWay: cafuego: OK, then, will do.
(20:54:28) KatteKrab: yes - good point - the list is a great place to
throw thoughts around between drinks - er meets.
(20:54:31) KatteKrab: night all!
(20:54:34) ***PaulWay was hoping for some thoughts from others about the
idea of a shared project for LUGs.
(20:54:46) spidie: short meeting is good FWIW
(20:54:58) KatteKrab: PaulWay: another agenda item for next meeting?
perhaps get the ball rolling on list in the meantime?
(20:55:05) Czaxx: cu later everyone /me need food :)
(20:55:14) ***KatteKrab needs food too.
(20:55:16) KatteKrab: bye!
(20:55:19) adhoc: night KatteKrab
(20:55:29) tp: nite all
(20:55:30) PaulWay: Thanks for that KatteKrab !
