[LCP] message queues in pthread

Hi:

    Are Sys V message queues in linux thread safe? is it ok
to create a worker thread to get a data from message queues
(using msgrcv)?  My program (actually written in C++) keeps
on crashing after the msgrcv call inside the thread.

    Should I use POSIX message queues instead?

P.S. [OT] It seems that the corresponding C++ mailing list
TuxCCProgramming at lists.linux.org.au is already defunct. I
was unable to subscribe and neither am I able to contact
