<div dir="ltr"><div>To the Linux Australia Community,</div><div><br></div><div>We wanted to apply for a further grant application around the</div><div>Stemformatics Data Portal project, this time around travel expenses.</div><div><br></div><div>Sadia Waleem was one of the students who was on the Stemformatics </div><div>Data Portal project (<a href="https://portal.stemformatics.org">https://portal.stemformatics.org</a>). </div><div><br></div>She has been accepted to talk at the second Open Source and<br>Bioinformatics miniconf as part of Linux Conference Australia on 22<br>January 2018 at University of Technology, Sydney.<div><br></div><div>We are hoping that with this talk we may attract more people to help<br></div><div>contribute to the Open Source Stemformatics ecosystem, especially </div><div>around the Data Portal. We have been improving our documentation </div><div>and will be updating our website to provide more information about </div><div>how to contribute code to this and other Stemformatics projects.</div><div><br></div><div>I estimate the flights will cost around $300 via Jetstar (normally $139</div><div>or $149 without check-in). I wasn't sure if there would be a provision </div><div>to include taxi fares to and from Melbourne airport for Sadia.
