Firstly, I highly recommend that anyone who wishes to be an active part of Linux Australia nominate for council. There is no shame in self nomination either.

I think the current Linux Australia council has been one of the most effective and well run councils I have seen. Hence I would like encourage everyone on the current council to continue to do their awesome work! Hence, I've nominated the following people for the following positions;

Joshua Hesketh - President

Hugh Blemings - Vice President

Kathy Reid - Secretary

François Marier - Treasurer

Bianca Gibson - Council Member

Josh Stewart - Council Member

Clinton Roy - Council Member

If any of the current council members wish a nomination for different position, I'd be happy to provide it. In the process I also accidently nominated Kathy Reid for President. I *do* believe that she would also make an excellent president so I'm not going to retract that.

I understand that not all the current council members might have time to continue their involvement with Linux Australia. Along those lines I've also nominated the following people who I believe would be excellent additions to the council;

Chris Neugebauer - Council Member

Chris has been actively involved with running PyCon AU in 2012 and 2013. He also run the highly successful financial aid program that I've love to see extended to all Linux Australia conferences.

Tennessee Leeuwenburg - Council Member

Tennessee Leeuwenburg is a core part of the Australian Python community, has been a speaker at PyCon Au and helped out with the papers committee. He has shown an active interested in Linux Australia and I believe would be a great addition to the council.

Lastly, as I've been asked a couple of times already, I've decided to *not* accept any nominations.

Tim 'mithro' Ansell

Being a member of Linux Australia Council is a fun way to meet new
people, work on exciting projects and expand your skill base. It gives
you excellent transferable skills to help build your career, and allows
you to grow your professional network. It looks great on a CV, and is
Australia's contribution in this field.

The roles do require a time commitment - generally around 2-3 hours per
week - so please consider this with your nomination.
