You sort of force someone to take the minutes PLUS this is standard practice (an organisation that handles as much money as Linux Australia Inc. who can't keep good records of minutes is unknowable in this day and age especially when the meetings are generally taking in an electronic format where ALL the conversation is recorded - you could even just claim the whole recoding by "the secretary were minutes" as opposed to have none)</div><div><br></div><div>4. Reminds you that minutes might have actionable items</div><div><br></div><div>5. Self explanatory</div><div><br></div><div>I know we all like to think we're open source and new age and have the Interwebs and stuff but seriously, this is basic stuff. You may have noticed that we, as the council, have been a little bit
amiss with posting our minutes from our fortnightly teleconf
meetings.<br>
<br>
We have been meeting most fortnights and discussing and acting on a
many number of things. Sadly the priority of taking and posting
minutes has slipped us and we've fallen behind. I've started to dig
out what minutes I can and posted them on the <a href="http://linux.org.au">linux.org.au</a> website.
