Hi all! I have been trying to get this USB ADSL modem working for a couple of weeks now. I am using an x86 based system running RH7.1, Linux 2.4.9, Linux ATM v0.79, Linux Speed Touch USB driver v1.5, RP-PPPoE v3.2, and the br2684 (bridging Ethernet) v010402 kernel patch. I have been informed by iiNet that I should be using "Bridged IP" which I assume to be PPPoE with the br2684 kernel patch. Both the standard tech support and network engineers at iiNet seriously have no clue about how iiNet clients ADSL setup is done and nor do they seem to know who to find out from. Very disappointing. I am fortunate as I currently have two ADSL modems, the USB one is connected to my Linux box and the other (an internal PCI modem) is connected to my W2K Pro box which works fine. I have followed several howtos without success: http://linux- usb.sourceforge.net/SpeedTouch/howto.html, http://www.zoftware.org/adsl- pppoe/ and http://www.becsta.net/adsl.html. I am currently putting my lack of success down to me being a ADSL newbie and iiNet not providing enough info. I am at the put where /var/log/messages says "Sending PADI" then I get "LCP timeout"... If anyone has any ideas, or even better has successfully done this, I'd be grateful to hear from you. TIA CC
