Problem is, I have a hotel room booked 2km from the venue, and the hotel won't refund my booking. Is there anyone looking for a room on the Gold Coast that wants this room? According to wotif.com (where I booked it), I can change the name without a problem, I just can't have my money back. The booking is from 11 - 18 Jan for $1058.40. Anyone interested? Vanessa is a big advocate for Open Source, especially in the case of elections where it allows people to find and fix bugs and to share an honest assessment of a system?s strengths and weaknesses. Vanessa's keynote will explore what good software could do for democracy and why it is mostly doing the opposite. She will also discuss what we can do to fix these problems. Vanessa will start by exploring the role of software in elections before speaking more specifically about what we could build to improve the situation. BlueHackers has in the past arranged for a free counsellor/psychologist at several conferences (LCA, OSDC). Given the popularity and great reception of this service, we want to make this a regular thing and try to get this service available at every conference possible ? well, at least Australian open source and related events. Right now we?re trying to arrange for the service to be available at LCA2020 at the Gold Coast, we have excellent local psychologists already, and the LCA organisers are working on some of the logistical aspects. Meanwhile, we need to get the funds organised. This is important stuff. We can make a real difference. We have about a week until LCA2020 starts, let?s make this happen! Thanks. It sounds to me that you've clicked on the "yes" candidate rather than casting a vote. Clicking on the candidate shows information about the candidate - it doesn't cast a vote. To vote you need to click the button which says "vote in this election" (or words to that effect - I'm going on memory and cannot conveniently check the exact wording right now). In a yes-no election there is obviously little to be shown about the candidates. However, when the candidates are people (as they are for the council election) then there will in general be information which voters may wish to see. If you can log in to the site, but not see the elections page (or, I assume what you're seeing on the member area, but I've not tested that one myself), it's likely your membership expired and wasn't renewed. I don't know exactly what the timeframe it's set to at the moment, but I think it's only an hour or two. regards On 13/1/20 5:22 pm, Steven Ellis via linux-aus wrote: > Is there some sort of login security that is performing blacklisting > on the Linux Australia website. > > I'm trying to reset my login and I'm getting the following error after > a couple of attempts. > > Unable to connect > > > > On Mon, Jan 6, 2020 at 6:43 PM Julien Goodwin via linux-aus > > > wrote: > > On 6/1/20 3:57 pm, Andrew Spiers via linux-aus wrote: > > I log in, go to > > https://linux.org.au/member-area/ > > and I receive a message asking me to please sign in. > > I have tried logging out and logging in, changing my password, using > > private browsing mode, using chrome as well as firefox.
