Received complaints from younger users their ABC.net.au iView episodes
were not playing.

Checked ABC forums, seems others having similar problem, past few days.

Post here IMHO problem summary from: rickysa

Can we persuade ABC.net.au to consider using open/alternate, at least
suitable for linux users, formats so all can keep watching ?

Self at present only able to view ABC News24...

Same here, except not only does iView not work in Mac iView also does not
work in Linux.
Iview does however, work fine in Windows.

The browser brand does not matter, Windows Internet Explorer, Firefox,
Chrome, they all work in Windows.

The same browsers in Mac and Linux however do not play videos from ABC's
iView.

Adobe Flash has a large history of security problems which I only guess ABC
is trying hard to work around by doing version checking when loading their
videos.
However, Adobe publicly state that 11.2 is the last supported version for
Linux or Mac platforms.
The latest flash version available for Windows is 11.9.

So based on that it would leave ABC in a quandry.
Keep maintaining a security flawed technology via version checking or
alienate entire communities by making ABC Microsoft only.

Hopefully they are looking at getting iView working again.
