[Linux-aus] Nomination for Council Member / Treasurer

I don't know anything about the events to which you refer. This then is the problem - it is not possible for me, or any candidate, to know in advance that someone may have a grievance with someone associated with an employer/organisation/institution/whatever.

One might suggest if I linked to specific stories I had written that others would instead be complaining about blogspam ;)

I think it is a reasonable suggestion that in future elections candidates are required to fill in some form of resume so any interested person can ask further questions about their background.

My nomination was late in the process and perhaps that prevented any detailed questioning but this was simply because, as I have stated, I was dismayed by the lack of candidates so close to the nominations ending. At that point there was no candidate whatsoever for Treasurer or President. I felt compelled to act on that basis, that if nobody else would stand up then I would do so. I don't really believe there is anything more which can be read into that except a motivation for the organisation's continuity.

I believe we all share that interest.
