I can see some of that, but really that's ridiculous. I'm organising video
for LCA 2013, and I haven't ever been on a conference team before, so my point
of view is not tempered by long experience :-) But watching the team for LCA
2013 I would say that we are putting together an awesome conference and we're
not anywhere near those levels of time allocation.
Running LCA certainly a big commitment - if that's what your interlocutor was
trying to convey then they might have gone a bit overboard in the horological
dimension :-)
Just my personal opinion, nothing to do with the organising committee :-)
