Examples of things Linux Australia doesn't currently do:

Electronic Frontiers Australia
Federal Court decision highlights need for flexible right of fair
use in Copyright Act

Australian Digital Alliance
High Court ruling provides clarity on authorisation law,
but there's still work to be done

Open Source Industry Australia
INDUSTRY SUPPORTS GOVERNMENT OPEN SOURCE INITIATIVE

Linux Australia is not currently engaged in the active promotion of
Linux in Australia. Red Hat and Oracle do that. Canonical (and the
ubuntu loco teams) might do that.

Apparently Attachmate is doing it for SUSE

This article from last year makes it look like LA is engaging - but I
dont know if the journalist contacted John for comment... Red Hat "said
in a statement"
