[Linux-aus] Should Linux Australia change its name?

Is Linux in Australia of so little significance that it no longer
warrants a national organization bearing its name?

I think changing the name of Linux Australia to anything else, even if
the organization does support other open source and free technologies,
would be a major blow to the promotion of Linux in Australia.

If Linux Australia changes its name to reflect the inclusion of other
open and free technologies, etc., what comes next? The recommendation
that LUGs change their names to reflect a more inclusive approach.
Instead of LUGs (Linux User Groups), perhaps they could be called BUGs
("Bloody Useless Groups").

Sorry about that. But I'm against the change of name!

Regards,
Jack
