0. {*} Linux Australia server - the council would like to extend their
thanks to Bob Gobblieb from HP for the donation of disks for our array,
and Bulletproof Hosting for their donation of RAM. Upgrades are
currently taking place, which will enable us to provide future and
expanded functionality.
0. {*} Linux Australia meetings - Teleconference meetings will now take
place fortnightly, with IRC meetings on alternate weeks to allow
operational matters to be dealt with. Teleconferences may be scheduled
in place of IRC meetings as needed.
0. {*} LCA equipment - Steve Walsh will be travelling to Hobart next
weekend to bring the LCA equipment back to Melbourne in preparation for
shipping to LCA'10.
0. {*} Brisbane Barcamp - an email was received from Clinton Roy
requesting $300 in sponsorship to cover the shortfall from the recent
Brisbane BarCamp. The council agrees to cover this expense on a
once-off basis; future requests for sponsorship will be required to be
made prior to the event.
0. {*} Proposal for podcast - an email was received from Daniel Sobey
proposing provision of an official Linux Australia podcast, and
requesting endorsement by the Linux Australia council. The council has
agreed that while a Linux focused podcast would be of interest to our
members, Linux Australia will not endorse the podcast at this time.
However, Linux Australia is willing to sponsor the podcast in terms of
providing infrastructure for mirroring podcast content in a relevant
format, and publicity via the Linux Australia mailing list.
0. {*} CDs for SFD - the council wishes to extend their thanks to
MediaMovers for their fast turnaround of the Software Freedom Day CDs on
such a short timeframe, and apologises to any LUGs who may not have
received theirs in time for SFD.
