I'm not sure what your point is -- Apple created Boot Camp to
non-destructively repartition the GUID/EFT based MacOS X partition and
provides BIOS emulation to allow non-EFI compliant operating systems
to boot on Apple hardware. Sure, you can't just boot Windows XP or
Vista on an Intel-based Apple Mac, but you can boot Windows Server
2008 and Windows 7 natively (they both support EFI). I've used Boot
Camp to happily dual-boot with MacOS X and Ubuntu, btw -- so it's not
just for Windows.
So again -- you can't run MacOS X on non-Apple hardware, but you can
very easily run (boot and play, if you wish) non-Apple operating
systems on Apple hardware.
