== Council meeting ==
* Time 21:30, Thursday, 2008/10/09
* Where: Linux Australia teleconference, and #LACTTE IRC channel
* Attendees: Steve Walsh, Stewart Smith, James Turnbull, Paul Schulz,
Melissa Draper
== Notes ==
Starred ( {*} ) items are expected to require discussion at the meeting.
Un-starred items will be taken as noted or carried without further
discussion, unless starred at the beginning of the meeting.
0. {*} Are there any items to star?
1. Accept minutes of MeetingNotes20080911
2. {*} Update on Bank Access.
Steve visited local Westpac branch, advised to visit home branch
instead, will do so Saturday. If this doesn't resolve the access issue,
Terry will need to visit LA's "home branch" and resolve issue. Will
report back to list on results and findings.
3. {*} Purchase cert for lca domain
Steve reported problems purchasing cert for linux.conf.au, as the domain
is a "short use" only, and details cannot be confirmed through a whois
lookup on the domain. Steve is working with LCA09 to register a cert for
a suitable alternate domain, and will probably go with conf.linux.org.au
for future years, with teams having the option of registering their own
"brochureware" SSL cert if needed.
4. {*} Lca010 Visits and updates
Stewart has now visited all three bid cities. Discussion was held on the
bids, with the intent to take the conversation to the list to advise the
teams of the decision by the 18th October, and a public announcement at
LCA09 in Hobart
== General Business ==
* Discussion of any items that provide relevant information to the
council and which might generate motions for next meeting or new action
items.
