3. AUUG Bequest / Merger
Peter Miller and Lawrie Brown approached Linux Australia with
proposals that Linux Australia offer support to the Australian Unix
Users Group. Both Peter and Lawrie were seeking expressions of interest
in the idea of providing support to AUUG.
Motion: '''That Linux Australia reply to Peter Miller and Lawrie Brown
expressing interest in the support and preservation of the AUUG
organisation.'''
* PASSED with concensus.
Steve Walsh will communicate our interest to both Peter Miller and
Lawrie Brown.
5. Jobs List
The Jobs database and the jobs list have fallen into disrepair.
8 Council agreed that these services are valuable and that they should
be resurrected. James Turnbull will moderate the Jobs mailing list and
options for resurrecting the Jobs database will be explored.
6. Virtual-LUG offering (was LUG-in-a-box)
The Linux Australia Admin Committee have developed a platform that
believe will meet the technical requirements of Linux User Groups. The
Admin team seek agreement from the Linux Australia Council to begin
public dialogue with interested Linux User Group representatives in
order to develop a costed proposal to bring to Council.
* Council agreed that the Admin should open their proposal to
community discussion.
7. Update on relocation of LCA assets to Hobart to support LCA2009.
Steve Walsh advises that some assets require relocation to Hobart.
There will be a cost associated with this and Steve will obtain and
supply quotations for the transport.
