Some relevant details I should have included in the previous message for
all LA members to consider:
** We have less than 10 days to get ourselves organised - Nominations close
COB Monday 25 February 2008.
Details from the 2020 Summit site:

Nominations
Every Australian has the opportunity to nominate themselves, or someone
else, to attend the Australia 2020 Summit as a member of one the 10
critical areas of discussion.
Participants will be selected by a 10 member independent non-government
Steering Committee.
Expenses need to be covered by each individual. Special circumstances
applications will be considered.
More information about the summit is provided under About the Summit.
How do I nominate?
If you are interested in participating in the Australia 2020 Summit as a
delegate on 19-20 April 2008 in Canberra, or wish to nominate someone else
ayou believe has an important contribution to make to the discussion,
please complete the nomination form and return it by no later than COB
Monday 25 February 2008.
What information do I need to provide?
* You will need to provide some personal details to allow us to
contact you (and/or your nominee) during the coming weeks. These details
will only be used for the purposes of the nomination process and for the
organisation of the summit. If you have any concerns regarding privacy
please read our Privacy Statement. Because of the details we request, if
you are nominating someone else, you must confirm that they will be
available to participate in the 2020 Summit, if they are selected.
* You will need to outline which working group (up to 3) that you are
interested in, and provide some brief details about your background and
experience. If nominating someone else, you will need to talk to them about
their areas of interest.
* We also need the names and current contacts for two personal
referees to support your nomination, so please make sure you let them know
that you are listing them on your nomination form and that they may be
contacted to discuss your nomination. If you are nominating some else, you
must be willing to be a personal referee.
* You also have a chance to outline why you (or your nominee) should
be considered as a delegate in the Australia 2020 Summit.
As nominations are open to all Australians and we are expecting a large
amount of interest, please try to keep your information brief as outlined
in the form. This will assist us in being able to read and consider all
nominations equally.
Notification to applicants
All applicants will be notified by email or post following the decision of
the Steering Committee.
If you are not successful, please consider making a submission through this
site.

So as I see it we need to:
1) Agree on some LA members we'd like to attend (preferably more than 5),
and which 3 working groups they want to participate in.
2) Have a number of LA members nominate said people, maybe including the
person themselves.
3) On top of Notifications we must prepare a submission and send it in. I
suggest reworking the submission we sent to the Federal Treasurer earlier
this year. Please read it if you've not done so already:

Feedback with haste please, time is passing.
Cheers,
Marco
