I suspect many ACS members aren't ready for a paradigm shift in how they
pay their mortgages, rent or eat. It may not be in their best short-term
interest to have people "using the right tool for the right job".

Eventually, people like Brenda in South Australia, may be able to help
the organisation accept different models of IT profit making but if they
fail, eventually the ACS will become more and more irrelevant.

[Being irrelevant and being in a position of power, mind you, are not
always exclusive of each other in different realms, but realistically
if more and more compute professionals see the ACS as irrelevant then
they will, eventually, become irrelevant in more and more realms]
