Hi all,

On Monday I represented OSIA at the Standards Australia OOXML technical
committee meeting, which focused on clarifying and prioritising the 30
technical comments raised by Australian contributors to the SA process.

I'll have to wait and see how transparent the technical committee wishes to
be before publishing my complete summary of the meeting (I will urge for as
much to be done in public as possible, but don't wish to be disrespectful to
a process we're participating in), however the OSIA board will have it today
as I was representing them.

On the whole, the outcomes were positive, but there's more work to be done
between now and February (ie. the BRM in Geneva).

Just posting this to OSIA as a matter of transparency (and LA due to an
interested but not entirely overlapping audience, and an "interesting" post
seen there earlier today).

REMINDER: If you're interested in these issues, and are capable of joining a
complex debate without being a noisy, all-attitude-no-work zealot, please
come along to the legal and technical symposium about OOXML which is on THIS
FRIDAY at the UNSW Cyberspace Law and Policy Centre in Sydney:

Thanks,

- Jeff
