The choice aspect is re what the funding is put towards.
If the funding is used in a presctriptive manner then the funding chooses?
If the funding uses a voucher model then perhaps parents are choosing?
How do teachers know what their students are able to use?
Could there be a voucher model for support so that teachers can get
adaptive support for what their students are using.
Could the teacher access a block of whatever fits their specific class material.
Could the student swap technologies from school to school?
Will formats be open?
Will copyright be CC or open so that people can mashup and repurpose?
It might be that a more bottom up approach is taken as some schools
have laptops now.
If so being able to interoperate would be useful.
Ways to support diverse choices and still have interoperability would be useful.
Back to real open standards and thorough conversations around what
kinds of commonality are empowering and what are lockin.
Adaptable and flexible support strategies would be important for underpinning
choices locally for schools.
