[Linux-aus] SCO v Novell -- media release please

Folks,

You can imagine my surprise when I opened the AustralianIT
computing supplement of The Australian today and found not
one mention of SCO.

This is the rag that followed the early days of the saga
closely, including front-page and multi-page spreads.

I don't particularly have a good view of this supplement,
on bad days it does much nothing more than reprint media
releases.

So could we *please* have a Linux Australia media release
on the topic.

It's not like the material isn't there. Like this classic:

Asked whether he had any message for delegates to
   Linux.conf.au 2004, O'Shaughnessy said SCO was
determined to protect its intellectual property
and ensure that any misappropriation was dealt with.

   "We're serious," he said.

When it turns out that the misappropriation of intellectual
property has been by SCO from Novell.

Or this one, from a report on the AUUG meeting with SCO:

"SCO has exclusive rights to control the use and
  availability of derivative works," O'Shaughnessy
said. "This includes releasing derivative works
  to the open source community."

Which turns out to be false -- SCO had no rights at all
to control Novell's copyrights.

Linux has won. People who have read the previous articles
should by informed of that.

Thank you, Glen
