Linux Australia Pays Tribute To Rob "lilo" Levin.

Whilst the world celebrated Software Freedom Day, the sad news
filtered through that Rob Levin, creator and founder of Freenode, has
died.

Freenode is a global IRC network frequented by many Free and Open Source
Software users, enthusiasts and developers. The Freenode Network is home
to many Australian Linux and Open Source Internet communication channels
which are used for computer support, networking and socialising.

Levin was the victim of a hit and run accident whilst riding his bike in
his home town of Houston, Texas. He is survived by his wife and son. A
Book of Condolences will be made available on the Internet shortly,
email staff at freenode.net for details.

Linux Australia would like to acknowledge Rob's significant contribution
to the worldwide Free and Open source software movement with this formal
statement of regret at his passing and offer heartfelt condolence to his
family and friends.
