The more I think about this, the more I think this is good future
proofing for LA, assuming that there are enough people willing to help
with conferences. One of the problems AUUG faces is that it's really a
single event organization at this point, and that event (for whatever
reason) is becoming less popular.
Perhaps there's some sort of model where LA provides more event support
(a full time person to advise, good documentation, good relationships
with sponsors, a network of speakers, whatever) [1] and local teams run
more conferences.
