No. Logical extremes make obvious problems that are not so in-your-face
in less extreme applications of the same logic. This logical extreme
might not contribute help your case, but that doesn't make it invalid by
nature.

I for one don't mind at all knowing ahead of time that lca08 will be in
Melbourne, and it won't make any difference to whether I go to the '07
event. Since I'm now part-time on this stuff and living way closer to
Melbourne than Sydney, I think I'll be going to one and not the other
irrespective of when I know where each will be.

I guess the other point to make is that for those who are going on a
corporate budget, they're independent events because they're in separate
financial years.
