[Linux-aus] What else would you like to see Linux Australia doing?

Hi LA!
Over the last couple of months I've been personally feeling quite
"disconnected" from Linux Australia. There are a bunch of reasons for it
such as huge time pressure at work and changes in the committee meeting
timing and format, all of which mean LA issues have gone from being in
my mind every day to maybe only every week or two.
That should only be a temporary thing, but pondering the problem got me
thinking again about what LA has been up to and where it could go. The
main list has been very quiet lately and after the burst of activity
around LWE and CeBIT things have been relatively calm apart from Rusty's
heroic efforts to single-handedly change the course of the FTA. We have
Software Freedom Day coming up soon of course and a lot of people are
busy getting ready for all the public events that will take place, but
even the Grants Program has been quiet recently.
So what sorts of things would you like to see LA getting involved in?
Are there local activities you would like to kick off but need resources
or direction to get started? Could your LUG do with help in some area,
such as speakers for meetings or insurance to run an installfest?
If so, please speak up! The LA Committee will be having a face-to-face
meeting before long so *now* is the time to make your thoughts known. If
you want your suggestions to be confidential you can email
committee at linux.org.au, otherwise please post right here on
linux-aus at lists.linux.org.au since all the Committee members read this
list anyway and the more visibility the better.
Cheers :-)
