Perl runs on any platforms but there are, for example, WIN32::
classes....
Java is write once, test on everything.
The real problem here is that that the ATO don't consider Linux/Open
Source JVM's good return on investment and when 90% or more of their
customers don't use it to submit their returns they're right.
Until WE can demonstrate there is a need, *I* refuse to pay extra taxes
so that you can submit your tinpot return to the ATO.
When you can invalidate that statement with some type of business sense
that a corporation and government might understand, then you can start
asking for software compatibility...
Quit complaining - earlier in this thread the plain reason is that they
don't see a need because noone is asking. They're doing their job - too
bad if you don't like it.
Rather, quit complaining and formulate a reason WHY they might want to
make it compatible...
